I have been a faculty member of the Department of Psychology since 1998. I am the Director of the master's degree program in Professional School Counselor Education. Teaching interests focus on Developmental Psychology and Psychology of Gender. I currently teach courses in adolescence and life span human development and Psychology of Gender. Research interests are broadly related to issues of development and behavior in the child and adolescent population. Current research interests include maladaptive self-critical perfectionism and ineffective coping, homelessness in child and adolescent populations, and topics associated with minority sexual orientation. I serve on the Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Advisory Committee for the Utah State Office of Education. I am also a member of the Advisory Board for USU's Center for Women and Gender. I earned a graduate degree in school psychology from Utah State University in 1997. I earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from USU in 1991. I worked as a School Psychologist in the public school system before joining the faculty of the Department of Psychology. I am a member of the National Association of School Psychologists and the American School Counselor Association.
