Biography

Jeisianne Rosario Colón is a 3rd year doctoral student in the Combined Clinical/Counseling/School Psychology program at Utah State University (USU). She is working with Dr. Melanie M. Domenech Rodríguez and Dr. Renee Galliher. Before attending USU, she received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez. Her research is focused on parenting styles and child outcomes in Latino families, specifically in Puerto Rican parents living in the island. She is also interested in multicultural research and diversity issues. She has served as the Editorial Assistant for Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research from Fall of 2014 to August 2016 and is serving as an independent consultant on the NIH-funded Padres Preparados intervention grant. She is also the graduate advisor for the Latino Student Union at USU.  Thesis defended: Parenting Styles and Child Outsomes in PuertoRican Families.
