Research Interests: Emotion, Predictions of the Future, Prosocial Behavior, Self-Other Asymmetries
Shane Bench is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Utah State University. He earned his B.S. in psychology from Weber State University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in social psychology from Texas A&M University. After completing his doctoral work he was a post-doctoral research associate at Washington State University and Texas A&M University.
Dr. Bench is interested in the functions of emotions, and the impacts that emotions hold on experience, behavior, cognition and physiology. He is also interested in social cognition, broadly defined, with specific areas of interest including: the role of emotion in judgment, predictions of the future, and perceptions of others.
