HOMELESSNESS RESEARCH & PREVENTION GROUP ABOUT THE LAB
Homelessness is a pervasive social and public health problem that afflicts individuals from all walks of life. Declines in employment opportunities, public assistance, and affordable housing at the social level, and pervasive low income, loss of income, domestic violence, mental illness, and addictions at the individual level, all contribute to the incidence and prevalence of homelessness. The Homelessness Research & Prevention Group (HRPG) is directed by Dr. Jamison Fargo and conducts evaluations of homelessness intervention and prevention initiatives, research on risk factors and trends in homelessness, and focuses specifically on eradicating youth and US Veteran homelessness. The HRPG frequently works as a partner with other community, state, and federal agencies to develop solutions to society's homelessness problems.
