Requirements to Minor in Psychology

Students can declare a minor in psychology at any time prior to graduation as long as they meet the Utah State University admission requirements.

Psychology Minor Information

  • USU Psychology courses used for a minor must have an average GPA of 3.0 or higher. No psychology course with a grade lower than C- will be accepted towards fulfilling the minor requirements.
  • No Psychology courses numbered 3000 or above may be taken until a student has successfully completed Psychology 1010 and has completed at least 45 semester credits wtih a 3.0 or better.
  • No Psychology courses numbered 4000 or above may be taken until a student has successfully completed Psychology 1010 and has completed at least 60 semester credits with a 3.0 or better.
  • Most psychology courses list Psychology 1010 as a prerequisite. Many of these psychology courses also have additional prerequisites as listed in the General University Catalog.
